The intention was to explore materials to re-design the NEWGATE Bullitt clocks. Lumberjack is a wooden clock, carefully milled from one piece of walnut using hand operated machines. It is polished and oiled to emphasise the walnut’s beautiful grain. Mason is a concrete cast clock with a debossed face. The clock is cast in a one-part silicone mould, giving the body a smooth, seamless surface. The clock is left exactly as it comes away from the mould, creating a raw texture in contrast to that of the Lumberjack clock.
